Pearson’s Falls & Glen is a top natural attraction in Polk County, NC, hosting over 30,000 visitors each year. We are located in the foothills of Western North Carolina off Hwy. 176, between the towns of Tryon and Saluda.
This unique botanical preserve is comprised of over 300 acres of rich cove forest, spring-fed streams and a moderate 1/4-mile trail to a 90 ft. waterfall.

For nearly 100 years, the Tryon Garden Club’s mission has committed to preserving and conserving Pearson’s Falls & Glen, a biological preserve and Natural Heritage Site. With that in mind our restoration efforts to help Pearson’s Falls heal have not used heavy equipment with most restoration work being done by hand with chainsaws and wheelbarrows.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene much attention has gone into planning the restoration of Pearson’s Falls & Glen. All work is being done in a way to minimize the impact on the fragile and rare ecology of the mature cove forest.
Stay awhile – Listen. Experience. Enjoy.
We are proud to be designated as a North Carolina National Heritage Site of the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area and a North Carolina Birding Trail Site.
