Step through the gate and back into nature with reserved admission to Pearson’s Falls & Glen, a protected biological preserve and Natural Heritage Site cared for by the Tryon Garden Club for nearly 100 years. At the heart of the Glen is Pearson’s Falls, a 90-foot waterfall tucked inside a rare, mature cove forest in the Southern Appalachians.

Visits are scheduled in advance, and capacity is limited to help protect the fragile ecology of the Glen while giving each guest a peaceful, unhurried experience on the preserve. During your time with us, enjoy the trail, native plants, bridges, forest scenery, and the waterfall at your own pace.

What to Know Before You Go

We want your time in the Glen to be as restorative as the forest itself. A few things to keep in mind:

Check-in:

Stop at the gate house as you drive onto the property to check-in. Have your printed or digital ticket ready to scan.

Dogs:

Due to our small, newly rebuilt trails and because conservation is at the apex of our mission, no pets are permitted on the Preserve. Our priority is to maintain the health of our rare native plants, our trails and our wildlife.

Footwear:

Sturdy, closed-toe shoes recommended as trails can be uneven and wet near the falls.

Photography:

Welcome! Tag us when you share your favorite shots. Please note that commercial photography is strictly prohibited without the written consent from the Executive Director of Pearson’s Falls & Glen.

Admission proceeds support the continued preservation, restoration, operations, and educational access that keep Pearson’s Falls & Glen protected for future generations.

Check-in details

• Check in at the gatehouse before parking at Pearson’s Falls & Glen.

• Bring your Ticket Confirmation, either digital or printed.

• Arrive ready to begin your visit at your selected admission time.

• Due to ongoing road repairs, use GPS for the most accurate directions.

What to bring

• Sturdy, closed-toe walking shoes

• Weather-appropriate clothing

• Digital or printed admission receipt

• A small bag for carrying out anything you bring in

Special requirements

Please note, for everyone's safety around the waterfall and natural terrain, each adult (18+) may bring up to 3 children age 12 and under. Please ensure your group has enough adults to meet this ratio before booking.

Restrictions

• No pets are permitted on the preserve.

• Guests must carry out everything they bring in, including waste.

• Coolers are not permitted.

• There are no BBQ or cooking facilities on property.

• Commercial photography is prohibited without written consent from the Executive Director of Pearson’s Falls & Glen.

Pearson's Falls & Glen is a natural preserve featuring uneven terrain, wet and slippery surfaces near the waterfall, exposed roots and rocks, elevation changes, bridges, and wildlife. By entering the Preserve, visitors acknowledge and accept that these natural conditions carry inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, falls, injury from terrain or wildlife, and exposure to weather.

Visitors enter the Preserve and use its trails and facilities at their own risk. Tryon Garden Club, Pearson's Falls & Glen, and their officers, employees, volunteers, and agents are not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage to persons or property arising from a visitor's presence on the Preserve, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Visitors are responsible for exercising personal judgment and caution, wearing appropriate footwear, supervising children and other members of their party, and complying with posted guidance and staff instructions at all times.
